Niger Delta activist, Asari Dokubo, has criticised a naval officer for what he described as an act of insubordination toward the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. Dokubo expressed disapproval over the officer’s behaviour, stating that such conduct is unacceptable in any democratic or civilised society.

According to Dokubo, the naval officer, being a public servant funded by taxpayers, is obligated to act within the confines of the law and uphold the principles of respect and accountability. He emphasised that no member of the armed forces is above the law or entitled to disregard constituted authority.

Dokubo further explained that the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, represents the President in his official capacity and therefore deserves full respect and cooperation from all government agencies and personnel. He argued that defiance against such authority is tantamount to challenging the government itself.

He maintained that the rule of law must prevail in every aspect of governance, warning that indiscipline and disregard for hierarchy could undermine the integrity of public institutions.
