The Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) has begun the second phase of laptop distribution for its 2024/2025 scholarship beneficiaries at universities across Nigeria. This was announced on Tuesday by PAP Administrator Dr. Dennis Otuaro through his Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Igoniko Oduma.

Dr. Otuaro explained that the initiative is aimed at supporting academic work and enhancing students’ overall success. “This gesture fulfills the promise I made to scholarship beneficiaries during my visits to partnering universities in 2024,” he said, emphasizing that the laptops are intended to improve learning and research outcomes.

He urged students to make productive use of the devices, stressing that the Federal Government has made significant investments in their education. “Take your studies seriously and avoid actions that could derail your future ambitions. PAP will continue to support you in achieving academic excellence,” Otuaro added.

The first phase of the distribution, conducted between April and May 2025, benefited over 663 final-year scholarship students and included a physical verification and orientation programme. Reaffirming his commitment to the programme, Otuaro highlighted its role in advancing the socio-economic development of the Niger Delta in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He commended the President for his support and encouraged youths to contribute to peace and sustainable development in the region.
