The Enugu State Government has officially re-launched the newly renovated Hotel Presidential Enugu, marking the revival of a once-dilapidated state-owned asset. This revitalization project was spearheaded by the administration of Governor Peter Mbah, who prioritized the restoration of this iconic establishment.

Originally inaugurated in 1963 by the government of the former Eastern Region, under the leadership of the late Premier Dr. Michael Iheonukara Okpara, Hotel Presidential was envisioned as a beacon of post-independence pride. The four-story hotel boasted 100 rooms, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, tennis courts, and various modern amenities, establishing itself as the foremost hospitality destination in the old Eastern region of Nigeria, now encompassing the South East and parts of the South South geopolitical zones.

The successful renovation of Hotel Presidential not only enhances the state’s hospitality sector but also signifies a commitment to preserving the rich history and cultural heritage of Enugu State.
