The Director of Environmental Health Services in Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia State, Mrs. Gladies Anyalewechi, has reaffirmed the council’s commitment to keeping the environment clean and healthy.

Speaking during the monthly sanitation exercise held on Saturday, August 30, Mrs. Anyalewechi noted that she and her team were on ground to supervise and ensure full compliance with the exercise.

She commended residents who participated actively, adding that maintaining a clean environment was vital for public health.

Also present at the exercise was the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Umuahia South, who led a team of officers to enforce compliance and ensure that those who violated the sanitation rules were compelled to join the cleaning.

Mrs. Anyalewechi urged residents to continue to support government efforts by sustaining cleanliness in their communities beyond the monthly exercise.
