Chelsea wrapped up transfer deadline day with the confirmation of two player moves involving Facundo Buonanotte and Alex Matos.
The club announced that Buonanotte has joined the Blues on a season-long loan from fellow Premier League side Brighton. The 19-year-old midfielder is expected to add depth to Mauricio Pochettino’s squad for the new campaign.
In a separate update, Chelsea confirmed the permanent departure of Alex Matos to Sheffield United. The 20-year-old midfielder joined Chelsea in 2023 and made his senior debut as a late substitute against Fulham the following October.
Matos featured consistently for Chelsea’s Under-21s in the first half of last season before securing a loan move to Oxford United in January, where he gained valuable first-team experience.
