Dangote Mourns As Phyna’s Sister, Ruth Otabor, Dies After Truck Accident

The Dangote Group has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Ruth Otabor, sister of reality TV star Phyna, who died following injuries sustained in a recent road accident involving one of the company’s trucks in Auchi, Edo State.

In a statement on Sunday, the company said it had been responsible for all her medical expenses since the incident and had made arrangements to fly her to India for further treatment before her passing.

“Despite the medical efforts and her brave fight, we lost Ruth today. On behalf of the entire Dangote Group, we extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and loved ones,” the statement read.

The company stressed that safety, accountability, and compassion remain central to its operations and pledged to strengthen measures to prevent future tragedies.

It also assured that full support would continue to be provided to the bereaved family, while offering prayers for the repose of Ruth’s soul.
