The Kano State House of Assembly has approved a supplementary budget of ₦215.3 billion following a formal request by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf. The approval was granted during Monday’s plenary session, presided over by Speaker Jibril Ismail Falgore.
According to the Speaker, the decision came after thorough debates and a comprehensive review by lawmakers to ensure the proposal aligned with the state’s developmental priorities. He noted that the Assembly was committed to supporting initiatives aimed at improving governance and service delivery.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, Falgore clarified that the exact figure approved stood at ₦215,378,374,543.62. He emphasized that the funds would be directed toward critical sectors to meet the state’s pressing needs.
The Speaker also assured that the House would exercise strict oversight to guarantee transparency and accountability in the disbursement and utilization of the budgeted funds by ministries, departments, and agencies.
