Captain William Troost-Ekong, defender Bruno Onyemaechi, and goalkeeper Amas Obasogie were the first players to arrive at the Super Eagles’ camp in Uyo on Monday morning. The team is preparing for crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
Troost-Ekong and Obasogie checked into the Four Points by Sheraton hotel base together, with Onyemaechi joining them shortly afterward. More invited players are expected to join the squad later in the day as camp activities gradually pick up.
Head coach Eric Chelle has called up a total of 23 players for the double-header. The squad blends experience with youth as Nigeria looks to get its qualification campaign back on track.
The Super Eagles will hold their first official training session on Tuesday at the practice pitch of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo. The session will mark the start of full preparations for the decisive encounters.
