The Abia State Government has reiterated its determination to upgrade the state’s road infrastructure, disclosing that multiple construction, reconstruction, and maintenance projects are actively underway across various locations.
According to the latest update, 55 road projects are currently being executed through direct labour under the Ministry of Works, with five already completed.
The Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, revealed this while briefing journalists at the Government House, Umuahia, after the weekly State Executive Council meeting chaired by Governor Alex Otti.
Kanu noted that the pace of work reflects the administration’s commitment to improving transportation, stimulating economic growth, and enhancing the quality of life for residents. He stressed that the ongoing projects are part of a broader effort by the Otti-led government to modernize Abia and improve accessibility across both rural and urban communities.
