Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Guwor, has pledged sustained support for the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN).

Guwor gave the assurance on Tuesday while receiving a membership card and an award of excellence from SWAN’s National President, Isaiah Kemje Benjamin, during a courtesy visit. He expressed gratitude for the recognition, stressing his passion for sports and the legislature’s commitment to promoting sporting development in the state.

“I will continue to stand with you and give my support,” the Speaker said, likening the association’s recognition to an act of gratitude in biblical terms.

In his remarks, Benjamin commended Guwor’s consistent support for sports in Delta State and across Nigeria, noting that the award followed a thorough evaluation of his contributions. He further explained that the associate membership card presented to the Speaker is renewable annually and expressed confidence that Guwor’s backing will strengthen Delta’s reputation as a leading sports hub.
