Akinade Onigbinde has officially resigned from his role as technical adviser of Nigeria National League (NNL) side, Doma United. His departure brings an end to a three-year spell with the Gombe-based club, popularly known as the Savannah Tigers.
During his tenure, Onigbinde recorded a major achievement by guiding Doma United to their first-ever Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) promotion in the 2023/24 season. Unfortunately, the team struggled to maintain top-flight status and were relegated after just one campaign in the NPFL.
Last season in the NNL, the Savannah Tigers showed promise under his leadership but narrowly missed out on securing a place in the promotion playoffs, falling short of a return to the top division.
With Onigbinde’s resignation, Doma United is now set to appoint a new technical adviser as preparations intensify ahead of the forthcoming NNL season. The club is expected to announce his successor in the coming days.
