The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has congratulated Super Falcons’ goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, and coach, Justine Madugu, for their impressive fourth-place rankings at the 2024 Ballon d’Or awards in Paris.
In a statement by the Head of Media, Ademola Olajire, the NFF described Nnadozie’s achievement as a “commendable feat,” highlighting that she competed against the world’s best goalkeepers.
NFF General Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi, expressed confidence in the 23-year-old shot-stopper, stating, “We believe in her capacity to win this trophy very soon.” Nnadozie, the reigning two-time African Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year, was instrumental in Nigeria’s recent WAFCON triumph.
Sanusi also praised Coach Justine Madugu for his fourth-place finish in the Women’s Coach of the Year category, saying it validated the NFF’s decision to appoint him. Madugu led the Super Falcons to victory at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Nnadozie finished behind winner Hannah Hampton of England, while Madugu was ranked behind champion coach Sarina Wiegman.
