Former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, CON, FCA, has joined millions of citizens in celebrating Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary, sending an emotional message that called for unity, renewed hope, and unwavering faith in the nation’s destiny.

In his goodwill message, Dr. Ogah hailed the sacrifices of Nigeria’s founding fathers, describing independence as a priceless gift and a sacred responsibility. He noted that the vision and resilience of the nation’s pioneers laid the foundation for sovereignty in 1960, and their legacy must continue to inspire collective commitment to progress.

Reflecting on Nigeria’s 65 years of nationhood, the Abia-born philanthropist acknowledged the challenges that have tested the country, including civil unrest, economic turbulence, and political struggles. He, however, emphasized that the resilience and determination of Nigerians remain unbroken, a clear sign of the nation’s potential for greatness.

Dr. Ogah urged Nigerians not to give up on the dream of a prosperous and united nation, stressing that patriotism should be demonstrated through active contributions to national growth. “Rebuilding Nigeria requires every hand on deck, from the corridors of power to the smallest communities,” he said.

He also called for deeper tolerance and harmony across ethnic and religious divides, noting that Nigeria’s diversity is her greatest asset. “We must see ourselves first as Nigerians before any other identity,” he maintained, while underscoring that peace, unity, and inclusiveness are essential for sustainable progress.

Celebrating Nigerian youths, Dr. Ogah commended their ingenuity and resilience, describing them as the heartbeat of the nation’s future. He encouraged them to embrace innovation, creativity, and excellence, positioning Nigeria as a leader in technology, industry, and global competitiveness.

Concluding his message, Dr. Ogah expressed strong optimism about the nation’s future, urging citizens to see the 65th Independence Anniversary not merely as a moment of celebration but as a renewed call to action. He prayed that Nigeria will continue to rise as a beacon of hope for Africa and the world.
