Former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uche Sampson Ogah, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, the revered evangelist, founder of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, and one of Nigeria’s most influential Christian leaders.
In a heartfelt condolence message, Dr. Ogah described the late Rev. Dr. Ukpai as “a rare vessel of God, whose life was a shining testimony of faith, humility, and selfless service to the Kingdom and to humanity.”
He noted that Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai’s unwavering devotion to spreading the gospel across Nigeria and beyond left an indelible mark on millions of souls, transforming lives through his message of salvation, healing, and hope.
“Nigeria and the Christian community have lost a spiritual icon whose voice of faith inspired generations. Rev. Uma Ukpai was not just a preacher but a father, mentor, and intercessor who lived entirely for God’s glory,” Dr. Ogah stated.
He further extended his condolences to the Ukpai family, the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, and the entire Body of Christ, praying that God will grant them the fortitude to bear this great loss.
Dr. Ogah prayed for the peaceful repose of Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai’s soul, adding that “his legacy of faith, love, and service will continue to speak across nations and generations.”
He concluded by urging Christians to find comfort in the assurance that Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai “has finished his race triumphantly and now rests in the bosom of the Lord he so faithfully served.”
