Popular nightlife mogul and philanthropist, Cubana Chief Priest (Pascal Okechukwu), has announced a major educational intervention, pledging to pay the school fees of 50 students from various departments at Clifford University, Owerrinta, Abia State.
The announcement was made on Sunday during the university’s 6th Convocation Ceremony, which he attended alongside his close friend and Afrobeats icon, Davido, who delivered the convocation speech and commissioned a female hostel named after his late mother, Dr. Veronica Adeleke.
Speaking at the event, Cubana Chief Priest said his philanthropic gesture was inspired by the Adeleke family’s dedication to supporting education across Nigeria, not just through their own university but through contributions to others as well. “My friendship with Davido proves that tribalism has no place among us,” he said. “The Adelekes support education beyond borders — that’s true generosity and leadership.”
He went further to declare his commitment to sponsoring 50 students in the institution, noting that “education transforms lives, and every young person deserves the opportunity to achieve their dreams.” His pledge drew a standing ovation from guests, students, and university officials, who hailed the move as a powerful act of kindness.
The ceremony, which also featured Davido’s inspiring message on purpose and service, was described as one of the most memorable in the university’s history. Vice Chancellor Prof. Chimezie Omeonu praised both Davido and Cubana Chief Priest for their humility and benevolence, calling their presence “a demonstration of influence used for good.”
Cubana Chief Priest’s act of generosity has since gone viral across social media, drawing widespread praise as a symbol of unity, compassion, and social responsibility. His message — echoed by Davido’s words — reminds Nigerians that true greatness lies not in wealth or fame, but in helping others rise.
