Lawyers File Bail Application for Aloy Ejimakor and Emmanuel Kanu as Police Allegedly Stall Court Process

Lawyers representing Barrister Aloy Ejimakor and his brother, Emmanuel “FineBoy” Kanu, have filed a bail application at the Federal High Court in Abuja following their reported unlawful arrest during the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest.

According to legal representatives, the bail request was duly submitted to the court earlier today to secure the release of the duo, who have been in police custody since the protest.

However, in what has been described as a deliberate act of obstruction, police prosecutors allegedly refused to accept service of the court summons delivered by court bailiffs — a move seen as an attempt to frustrate and delay the legal process.

Sources close to the defense team further disclosed that the police, in their haste, even misidentified “Aloy” as “Aliyu,” a mistake which lawyers say underscores the lack of professionalism surrounding the case.
