Umuahia, Abia State — October 9, 2025
The Umuawa-Alaocha Federated Union (UFU), Ohuhu, Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State, has announced plans to honour Mr Ejikeme Ikwunze for his outstanding contributions to human capital and community development within Umuawa-Alaocha and its environs.
In a formal letter signed by the President General, Comrade Chinenye Uwadi, and the Secretary General, Comrade Dennis Iroabuchi, the Union expressed appreciation for Mr. Ikwunze’s numerous initiatives that have positively impacted lives across the community.
According to the Union, the recognition will take place during the 2025 New Yam Festival, scheduled for October 30, 2025, in Umuawa-Alaocha. The leadership noted that the gesture is part of its commitment to celebrate indigenes whose efforts have advanced the socio-economic growth of both Umuawa-Alaocha and Ohuhu land.
“The Federated Union leadership and people of Umuawa-Alaocha have taken into consideration your numerous contributions to human capital development in Umuawa-Alaocha and beyond and have decided to honour your person,” the letter read in part.
The Union further described the award as a token of appreciation for Mr. Ikwunze’s dedication and service, encouraging other community members to emulate his example.
