Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Masters Communication and Multimedia Services, owners of Masters FM 105.9, Masters TV, and News Master Newspaper, Dr. Uche Sampson Ogah, has extended his warm felicitations to Nigerian editors as they gather in Abuja for the 2025 All Nigeria Editors Conference (ANEC), organized by the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE). The annual event brings together the nation’s leading media minds to deliberate on issues shaping governance, democracy, and the media’s evolving role in society.
Dr. Ogah, in his goodwill message, commended the organizers and participants for sustaining the tradition of dialogue and reflection through this important conference. He described editors as “the conscience of society and guardians of truth,” acknowledging their tireless efforts in holding power accountable and promoting good governance.
This year’s conference theme, “Democratic Governance and National Cohesion: The Role of the Editor,” was described by Dr. Ogah as both timely and patriotic, given the current socio-political climate in Nigeria. He emphasized that editors occupy a central place in shaping public discourse, strengthening democracy, and fostering unity across the nation’s diverse communities.
According to him, “In times when national cohesion is constantly tested, the editor’s pen must remain guided by truth, fairness, and national interest. The media must continue to be a bridge, not a barrier, for unity and progress.”
Dr. Ogah further urged editors to continue promoting responsible journalism, fact-based reporting, and constructive national dialogue that uplifts citizens’ trust in governance. He expressed confidence that the resolutions from the 2025 ANEC would contribute meaningfully to building a more informed, united, and democratic Nigeria.
“The strength of any democracy lies in an informed citizenry,” Ogah noted. “As editors, your role in balancing truth with national interest is essential to ensuring peace, accountability, and development in our nation
