No fewer than 1,000 students are set to benefit from a N100 million bursary fund provided by the Senator representing Ondo South Senatorial District, Jimoh Ibrahim.
According to the organisers, the initiative is designed to promote educational development across the district. The official presentation of the bursary will take place today (Saturday) at the University of Fortune, Igbotako, Ondo State, starting at 10:00 a.m.
Eligible students may collect their bursary in person at the event, authorise a representative through a signed letter, or opt to receive the payment remotely. The bursary payment team is also permitted to credit beneficiaries’ accounts after confirming their details via telephone.
The organisers emphasised that only current students from the six local government areas of Ondo South qualify for the support. Any applicant found to have graduated or discontinued their studentship will forfeit their slot.
A special arrangement has been made for persons with disabilities (PWDs), who will receive their bursary through their leader, Omamofe, without needing to attend the ceremony physically.
The organisers added that the gesture reflects Senator Ibrahim’s commitment to easing students’ financial burdens and enhancing human capital development within the district.
All recipients will be recognised as JI Scholars, a designation that offers formal acknowledgement and access to additional opportunities. Each beneficiary will also receive a certificate that can be used to seek further educational or financial support in the future.
