In a remarkable display of empathy and humanitarian commitment, the Senior Pastor of Power World Ministries, Rev. Dr. Uche Ume, has ordered the immediate drilling of a borehole for an aged widow, Mrs. Evelyn Ufomba, in Umuaro, Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State.
The intervention followed reports of the overwhelming joy displayed by Mama Evelyn upon receiving the news that a new house was being built for her as part of an ongoing charitable project. Deeply touched by her gratitude and determined to contribute meaningfully to the initiative, Rev. Ume contacted the project coordinator, D’Light Muzik Nwachukwu, to verify the status of the construction.
Nwachukwu confirmed that the building had already been completed and handed over, leaving only two major components outstanding, the drilling of a borehole to ensure access to clean water and the erection of a secure fence around the property. The update prompted immediate action from Rev. Ume, who wasted no time in instructing a borehole engineer to mobilize equipment and commence drilling at the site.
Further demonstrating his dedication to improving the welfare of vulnerable individuals, Rev. Ume also pledged to support the fencing of the property and to provide any additional assistance required to ensure that Mama Evelyn can live comfortably and with dignity in her new home. His gesture adds to a growing list of charitable efforts aimed at uplifting widows, the elderly, and other disadvantaged groups within the community.
Local residents and beneficiaries of similar humanitarian projects have praised Rev. Ume for his consistent outreach and compassionate leadership, describing his actions as a reflection of the church’s mission to positively impact lives beyond the pulpit.
The initiative reinforces the vital role of faith-based organizations in supporting social welfare, particularly in underserved communities where access to basic amenities remains a challenge.
