Former Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has left the door open for a potential return to the Spanish giants, while remaining cautious about his future at Saudi club Al Ittihad.

Speaking to Fabrizio Romano on X on Tuesday, Benzema said, “If Florentino [Pérez] is still there, it could happen. I could never say no to Pérez. I’m a Madridista. I feel it in my soul. Madrid is still my city. We’ll see what happens.”

Currently under contract with Al Ittihad until June 2026, the ex-France international was non-committal about whether he would stay or leave. “I don’t know if I’ll leave Al Ittihad or stay. It depends on many factors… let’s see what happens,” he explained.

Benzema, who scored over 300 goals for Real Madrid and played a key role in multiple Champions League and La Liga triumphs, remains a beloved figure among Los Blancos supporters.

He also spoke in defense of Vinícius Júnior amid ongoing scrutiny, urging fans and pundits to recognize the Brazilian’s contributions. “Don’t forget what Vini Jr did for Real Madrid, it’d be not fair at all. He’s a very good kid, with a big heart, who wants to learn, he’s phenomenal. People put a lot of pressure on him. He can do more, but you can’t say he’s bad now,” Benzema told @diarioas.

Vinícius, one of Real Madrid’s most influential attackers in recent seasons, has faced intensified criticism, though the club remains confident in his ability to impact games.
