Kabiru Yusuf, the lawmaker representing Alkaleri–Kirfi Federal Constituency in Bauchi State, says he has spent about N1 billion on empowerment projects aimed at boosting the economic wellbeing of his constituents.
Addressing a large crowd of supporters in Bauchi yesterday, Yusuf, popularly known as Makaman Duguri, announced that the distributed items include 20 vehicles, 150 motorcycles, 100 sewing machines, 200 water pumps, 100 wheelchairs, and N200 million in cash support.
He stated that beneficiaries cut across APC ward and local government officials, stakeholders from Alkaleri-Kirfi, youth and women’s groups, elderly persons, people with disabilities, and other supporters who contributed to his political journey.
Yusuf urged beneficiaries to use the items responsibly for the economic development of the constituency, the state, and the country. He also appealed to constituents who were not included in the current round of distribution to be patient, assuring them that more empowerment programmes are forthcoming.
Bauchi APC Chairman, Muhammad Hassan Tilde, praised the lawmaker’s achievements, noting that this is the sixth major empowerment programme he has witnessed in the past two years of Yusuf’s tenure.
Similarly, APC stakeholders’ leaders in Alkaleri and Kirfi councils, Adamu Umar Gokaru and Yakubu Yakubu Kirfi, commended the lawmaker’s performance, saying no representative in the history of the constituency has matched his record.
