In a tone filled with gratitude and renewed hope for the people of Isuikwuato and the entire Abia North corridor, Dr Uche Ogah has applauded the Minister of Works, His Excellency Senator Dave Umahi, for graciously approving and initiating the reconstruction of the long neglected Uturu Afikpo federal road.
The Uturu Afikpo road, a strategic economic and social lifeline linking Abia and Ebonyi States, has for years posed severe challenges to motorists, traders and students of the area. The route is a major gateway for commerce, agricultural movement and intercommunity connectivity, making its rehabilitation a priority for regional development. Its deplorable condition has affected safety, transportation cost and overall productivity.
Speaking on the development, Dr Ogah noted that Senator Umahi’s intervention reflects not just responsiveness but a deep sense of leadership anchored on action and compassion. He described the approval as “a turning point for the hopes of our people” and commended the Minister for demonstrating uncommon commitment to infrastructure renewal across the nation.
Dr Ogah further emphasized that Senator Umahi’s swift attention to the Uturu Afikpo corridor stands as proof of his integrity, engineering expertise and his passion to leave no region behind in the national works agenda. According to him, “This is a masterstroke of statesmanship. Senator Umahi has shown once again that he is a builder of both roads and trust. He has given our people a reason to believe again.”
He urged the benefiting communities to support the contractors and safeguard the project so that the work can be delivered according to specification and within time. He also reaffirmed his personal commitment to continue advocating for the infrastructural transformation of Abia.
Dr Uche Ogah concluded by stating that the reconstruction of the Uturu Afikpo Road will greatly boost economic activities, ease movement, enhance security and restore pride to the region. He maintained that Senator Dave Umahi deserves the heartfelt appreciation of Ndi Abia for this monumental intervention.
