Human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore appeared at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, to press on with his lawsuit against Moshood Jimoh, the Lagos State Police Command Commissioner, following the police’s public declaration that he was “wanted.”
Sowore arrived at the court around 9:30 a.m., accompanied by his legal team, to seek a formal ruling that the “wanted” notice issued on November 3, 2025, was unconstitutional.
The case had earlier been adjourned when police submitted a last‑minute counter‑affidavit, prompting the court to reschedule the hearing to today, December 9.
In the suit, Sowore argues that the police’s public branding of him as “wanted” without a warrant or formal due process violated his constitutional rights to liberty, dignity, and freedom of movement.
His legal team has described the late counter‑affidavit service as a deliberate delay tactic aimed at sabotaging the hearing.
