The Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPD), Umuahia North Chapter, has honoured Masters 105.9 FM with an award in recognition of the station’s outstanding commitment to inclusive media practice and support for persons with disabilities.
The award was presented on Sunday, December 14, 2025, during a brief ceremony, where the leadership of JONAPD applauded the radio station for consistently using its platform to promote inclusion, equity, and positive representation of persons with disabilities.
Presenting the award, the President of JONAPD described Masters 105.9 FM as a responsible and people-oriented media organisation, noting that the station’s programmes and on-air engagements have helped amplify the voices of persons with disabilities while fostering public awareness on disability-related issues. He commended the station for what he termed “smart and professional work on the airwaves,” which has contributed to changing public perception and encouraging social inclusion.
Responding on behalf of the station, the Station Manager of Masters 105.9 FM, Mr. Bright Ejike, popularly known as Igoyan Baba, expressed deep appreciation to JONAPD for the honour. He said the award serves as encouragement for the station to do more in promoting inclusivity and giving equal opportunities to all segments of society.

He assured JONAPD of the station’s continued collaboration in advancing awareness, advocacy, and development-driven conversations across Umuahia North and beyond.
