Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has denied reports suggesting that he stated the 2027 presidential ticket should be reserved for Southern Nigeria.

El-Rufai described the claim circulating on social media as false and misleading, insisting that he never made such comments in any public or private forum. He stressed that the narrative being attributed to him was fabricated and did not reflect his views on Nigeria’s political future.

According to him, discussions around zoning and power rotation are decisions for political parties and Nigerians to collectively determine, not statements to be wrongly imposed on individuals. He cautioned the public against relying on unverified reports and urged media platforms and social media users to uphold accuracy and responsibility.

El-Rufai further reiterated his commitment to national unity, saying Nigeria’s progress depends on credible leadership, competence, and fairness rather than divisive interpretations of political statements.
