The Police Service Commission has kicked off a nationwide hunt for 50,000 new constables to beef up community policing and tighten internal security. Applications opened on Monday, 15 December 2025, and will run until 11:59 pm on Sunday, 25 January 2026. The whole process is free, and the commission warned applicants to steer clear of any middlemen or unofficial sites that demand money.
Candidates must be Nigerian citizens by birth, hold a valid National Identification Number, and be physically, medically, and psychologically fit. They also need a clean record—no criminal convictions or financial troubles—and must meet the specific educational and height standards laid out on the official portal. All submissions have to be made online at (link unavailable), and multiple entries will be disqualified.
There are two tracks: General Duty and Specialists. General‑duty applicants should be 18‑25 years old, have at least five O‑Level credits (including English and Maths) earned in no more than two sittings, and meet the minimum height of 1.67 m for men and 1.64 m for women. Specialists, aged 18‑28, need four relevant credits, a recognised trade qualification, and at least three years of practical experience in fields like ICT, engineering, medical services, driving, or motor mechanics.
The Sokoto State Police Command urged eligible Nigerians to seize the chance, promising a transparent, merit‑based selection. If you fit the bill, head to the portal, fill out the form, and get ready to serve the nation.
