Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, has once again reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to the welfare of workers, announcing that civil servants across the state now enjoy regular and timely payment of their monthly salaries.
According to the governor, salaries are now paid on or before the 28th of every month, a development he described as a deliberate policy to restore confidence, dignity and stability within the state’s civil service. He also revealed that the payment of outstanding leave allowances has received official approval, ending years of uncertainty for workers.
Governor Otti made the announcement during the December edition of the monthly media briefing, Governor Otti Speaks, where he addressed journalists on governance, reforms and service delivery in Abia State.
He stressed that workers’ welfare remains a cornerstone of his administration, noting that motivated and well-supported public servants are critical to effective governance and sustainable development.
The governor further disclosed that the state has continued to make steady progress in key sectors, including road infrastructure, environmental management, healthcare, education and security. He attributed these gains to prudent resource management, focused leadership and consistent implementation of policies.
While acknowledging the significant challenges inherited by his government, Governor Otti maintained that strategic reforms and targeted interventions are already yielding positive results.
He assured Abians that his administration remains committed to all-round development, emphasizing that ongoing reforms are aimed at placing the state on a trajectory of long-term growth, stability and shared prosperity.
