Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, has announced decisive steps by his administration to resolve persistent electricity challenges in Ohafia and Bende Local Government Areas.
Speaking to Abians, the governor disclosed that the State Commissioner for Power and Public Utilities has been physically deployed to the affected areas to oversee efforts aimed at restoring and stabilising electricity supply.
Governor Otti explained that the move underscores his government’s hands-on approach to governance and its commitment to delivering practical solutions rather than making promises from a distance. According to him, the commissioner’s presence on the ground will ensure close engagement with relevant stakeholders, rapid assessment of technical issues, and timely implementation of corrective measures.
He assured residents of Ohafia and Bende that electricity restoration is a priority for his administration, noting that improved power supply is critical to boosting economic activities, supporting small businesses, and improving the overall quality of life in the communities.
The governor reaffirmed that his government will continue to take proactive steps to address infrastructure challenges across the state, adding that no part of Abia would be neglected in the drive for development and inclusive growth.
