The Abia State Government has rejected online reports alleging that Governor Alex Otti filed a case against the Federal Government at an international court regarding the approval of a proposed cargo airport in Aba, describing the claim as completely untrue.
In an official clarification, state authorities said no legal action of any kind has been taken by the governor against the Nigerian government locally or internationally over aviation projects. The administration stressed that the circulating story was invented and intended to confuse the public.
Officials explained that airport approvals and related infrastructure matters are handled through established national regulatory channels, and the state has continued to engage relevant federal bodies through proper procedures rather than litigation.
The government also denied statements attributed to the governor suggesting ethnic persecution or rights violations, warning that such allegations were falsely inserted to stir tension and misrepresent the administration’s position. It reaffirmed that the governor supports cooperation with federal institutions and promotes unity and lawful dialogue.
Residents and media organizations were urged to rely on verified government communications and avoid spreading unconfirmed reports. The state added that it may take action against individuals or groups found to be deliberately distributing false information.
According to the statement, the administration remains focused on development projects and governance reforms aimed at improving economic growth and public services across Abia State.
