The aspirations of Abia 2027 Election APC Governorship hopeful Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu have received a fresh boost as AYAN openly tipped him for wider support, citing his leadership ideals and engagement with young people across the state. The group, identified as the Abia Youth Advancement Network, said its position reflects the growing confidence among youths who are seeking purposeful, inclusive, and development driven leadership.
Speaking after a consultative meeting with members across different local government areas, the group’s leadership noted that the endorsement was a collective decision reached after assessing leadership qualities, accessibility, and commitment to youth oriented policies. The group leader, Comrade Chinedu Nwafor, stated that the decision was based on what he described as a clear alignment between the aspirations of young people and the leadership approach associated with Mascot Uzor Kalu.
According to the group, many youths in the state are increasingly drawn to leaders who demonstrate accountability, transparency, and a people centered vision for governance. Members emphasized that the growing support is organic and driven by shared expectations for sustainable development, job creation, and empowerment opportunities for young people in Abia State.
Comrade Nwafor explained that the Abia Youth Advancement Network has been actively involved in civic engagement, youth mobilization, and advocacy for responsible leadership, adding that tipping Mascot Uzor Kalu for support is part of their broader commitment to encouraging progressive political participation among youths.
The group further maintained that the endorsement is not based on partisan considerations but on the perceived need for leadership that understands the socio economic realities facing young people. Issues such as unemployment, skills development, entrepreneurship support, and inclusive governance were highlighted as key factors influencing their stance.
The Abia Youth Advancement Network also called on young people across the state to remain peaceful, united, and issue driven in their political engagements. The group stressed that constructive participation and responsible advocacy remain essential for strengthening democratic values and promoting good governance.
With the backing of organized youth voices and continued grassroots consultations, political watchers believe the latest show of support may further consolidate the growing momentum surrounding Mascot Uzor Kalu’s aspirations, particularly among the youth demographic that continues to play a vital role in shaping the future leadership direction of Abia State.
