The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has confirmed that 21 international vessels are currently unloading a variety of petroleum products and other cargo at the major port terminals in Lagos, including Apapa, Tin‑Can Island, and Lekki ports.
According to the NPA’s latest Shipping Position update, the ships are discharging petrol, aviation fuel, diesel, bulk gas, and other goods such as cargo trucks, bulk wheat, bulk sugar, fresh fish, soya bean oil, bulk clinker, and containers.
In addition, the authority noted that another 41 vessels loaded with petroleum products, foodstuff, and assorted imports are expected to dock at the Lagos port complex from February 28 to March 7.
Meanwhile, 17 other ships have arrived and are waiting to berth, carrying items including bulk urea, crude oil, ethanol, aviation fuel, and general cargo.
This increase in maritime activity reflects a steady inflow of fuel and commodities into Nigeria’s busiest seaport, supporting supply chains across the country.
