Missile Strikes Hit US Naval Facility in Bahrain as Gulf Tensions Explode

A wave of explosions shook Manama after missiles struck near a key United States naval installation, marking a sharp escalation in Middle East hostilities.

The strikes were reportedly carried out by Iran in response to coordinated military operations by the United States and Israel targeting Iranian sites earlier in the day. Witnesses described loud blasts and thick smoke rising from areas close to the US Navy Fifth Fleet base, a critical hub for American operations in the Gulf.

Authorities in Bahrain confirmed that the attack targeted facilities linked to the US naval presence, prompting emergency alerts and heightened security measures across the island nation. Residents were urged to seek shelter as sirens sounded in several districts.

The retaliatory action appears to be part of a broader Iranian response, with reports indicating that multiple US military sites across the region—including locations in Qatar, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates—were also targeted.

The escalation follows a major offensive against Iran, triggering fears of a wider regional conflict. Airspace restrictions, disrupted flights, and increased military activity have already begun affecting several Gulf countries as tensions continue to rise.

Security analysts warn that the situation could worsen if both sides continue retaliatory strikes, raising concerns about stability across the Middle East.
