Aba, Nigeria – Abia 2027 Governorship Aspirant Chief Mascot Uzo Kalu has reiterated that the primary responsibility of government is to drive economic development and ensure the prosperity and well-being of the people.
Speaking Newsmen, Kalu emphasized that governance should be centered on policies that improve the quality of life of citizens through job creation, infrastructure development, and economic empowerment.
“The business of the government is economic development, the prosperity and well-being of the people,” he stated, stressing that effective leadership must focus on initiatives that stimulate growth and support small and medium-scale enterprises.
Kalu noted that when governments prioritize economic expansion and people-oriented policies, communities experience increased productivity, reduced unemployment, and improved social stability. He added that investments in key sectors such as education, healthcare, and commerce are essential for sustainable progress.
He underscored the urgent need for governments to place economic development and citizens’ welfare at the center of policymaking, especially at a time when many households and businesses are seeking practical solutions to economic challenges and improved living standards.
Kalu concluded by urging leaders at all levels to remain committed to policies that prioritize economic development, social welfare, and long-term progress for the people.
