The Lagos State Government has directed property owners to settle their outstanding land use charge liabilities for the 2025 assessment year without further delay. The state’s Ministry of Finance stated that the directive aims to ensure that revenue needed for public services and infrastructure projects is collected on time.

According to the notice, both residential and commercial property owners with unpaid land use charges have been given a deadline to regularize their accounts. Property holders were also reminded that failure to pay may attract penalties, possible legal action, or restrictions on accessing certain government services.

Officials said that the government has made efforts to simplify the payment process through approved digital platforms to make it easier for taxpayers to meet their obligations. They encouraged property owners to take advantage of available channels to avoid interest on arrears.

The ministry further assured residents that the revenue generated from land use charges will be used to improve infrastructure and enhance service delivery across the state, reinforcing the benefits of compliance for the wider community.
