Abia 2027 Governorship Election Aspirant, Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu, has declared that the era of treating young people as leaders of the future must end, insisting that the youth must be empowered to take leadership responsibilities in the present.

Speaking during an engagement with young people in Abia State, Kalu emphasized that the strength, creativity, and energy of the youth represent one of the greatest assets of the state. According to him, meaningful development in Abia cannot be achieved without deliberately investing in young people and giving them real opportunities to lead and participate in governance.

Kalu stated that for too long, the youths have been told to wait for tomorrow while critical decisions that affect their future continue to be made without their involvement. He argued that the narrative must change, stressing that young people are already contributing significantly to society through entrepreneurship, innovation, and community leadership.

The Abia 2027 Governorship Election Aspirant outlined a bold youth development agenda that focuses on skills acquisition, technology innovation, entrepreneurship support, and leadership inclusion. He explained that his vision is to create an environment where young people can access opportunities that allow them to develop their talents and become productive contributors to the state’s economy.

He further noted that empowering young people goes beyond rhetoric and requires deliberate government policies that promote education, digital training, and access to finance for youth driven businesses. According to him, Abia has the potential to become a hub for youth innovation if the right structures are put in place.

Kalu also called on young people across the state to prepare themselves for leadership by embracing discipline, hard work, and continuous learning. He assured that under his leadership vision, youths will not only be heard but will also play active roles in shaping policies and driving development in Abia.

He concluded by reiterating that the future of Abia depends largely on how well the present generation invests in its youth, adding that empowering young people today is the surest path to building a stronger and more prosperous state.
