Former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, has reiterated his dedication to the All Progressives Congress, dismissing reports suggesting he may be planning to leave the party.

Individuals close to the Abia politician described the speculation as inaccurate, stressing that he remains fully committed to the party’s vision and its growth within Abia State and the wider South-East region.

Over the years, Ogah has been recognized for his role in strengthening the party’s presence in the state. Supporters say he has contributed to building the party structure through grassroots engagement, mobilization efforts, and consistent support for party activities.

Stakeholders within the party also credit him with encouraging unity among members, particularly by supporting local party structures and promoting broader participation among grassroots supporters.

Ogah contested the 2019 governorship election in Abia under the banner of the APC, where he led the party’s campaign on a platform focused on institutional reforms and development for the state.

Party observers note that his leadership approach—often described as strategic and measured—has helped reinforce the organizational stability of the APC in the state.

As discussions gradually shift toward the 2027 election cycle, party members believe the strengthening of the APC’s base in Abia is partly due to the contributions of long-standing figures like Ogah.

Responding to rumours about a potential defection, his associates insisted the claims lack substance, maintaining that he remains focused on advancing the party’s interests and supporting its continued development in Abia.
