The Rivers State House of Assembly has started reviewing a new batch of commissioner nominees submitted by Governor Siminalayi Fubara to fill key leadership positions in the state’s executive branch. Lawmakers convened on Monday to assess the qualifications and readiness of the nine individuals presented for possible appointments to head various ministries and departments.
The nominees, with diverse professional backgrounds, appeared before the Assembly to answer questions from legislators as part of the constitutionally required confirmation process. This step ensures that only qualified candidates are approved to serve in the state government’s executive council.
Governor Fubara’s submission comes after recent changes within his administration and is aimed at completing his cabinet team to support the implementation of policies and programmes across Rivers State.
