Security operatives in Anambra State have detained a prominent traditional healer known as De Young Chief Priest during a raid at his base in Nnewi. Authorities allege that the spiritual leader may have links to criminal activities and brought him in for questioning and further investigation.

The arrest was carried out by the state’s Agunechemba security unit, which has been active in probing individuals suspected of combining spiritual practices with illegal operations. Officers reportedly removed the healer from his office as part of a broader effort to uncover potential connections between his work and unlawful networks.

Reactions among locals have been mixed, with some supporting the move for public safety, while others cautioned against associating traditional practices with crime without clear evidence.

Authorities confirmed that the suspect will remain in custody while investigations continue into his possible involvement in criminal matters.
