Young Athletes Honoured in Abuja for Outstanding Achievements

The National Sports Commission (NSC) recently held a special ceremony in Abuja to celebrate young athletes who delivered exceptional performances in various domestic and international competitions. The event focused on recognising talent, hard work, and dedication among Nigeria’s rising sports stars.

The ceremony, part of the NSC’s nationwide youth appreciation programme, saw several student-athletes being awarded for their achievements. Organisers emphasised that early recognition encourages young athletes to maintain high standards both on and off the field.

Top NSC officials led the event, highlighting the government’s commitment to nurturing future sports talent. They noted that celebrating young achievers not only motivates the athletes but also inspires their peers to pursue excellence in sports.

Former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, also attended and praised the initiative, stressing that supporting young athletes today will strengthen Nigeria’s presence in continental and global sports in the years to come.
