Nigerian sprinter Kayinsola Ajayi is aiming even higher after a stunning performance at the NCAA Indoor Championships. The Auburn University athlete won the men’s 60‑metre title, recording a time of 6.45 seconds, which set a new Nigerian best in the event.
Ajayi’s time now stands as the fastest ever by a Nigerian, surpassing performances by past stars like Deji Aliu and Olusoji Fasuba. The 21‑year‑old, who also topped the podium at the SEC Indoor Championships earlier this season, says he has loftier goals ahead.
After his victory, Ajayi revealed that his ambition is to shatter all existing records national and continental as he prepares for the outdoor season.
He plans to continue intense training and remain focused on achieving more milestones on the track.
