The United States Secret Service has announced plans to expand its workforce by opening applications for new officers, promising a financial reward of up to $75,000 for successful recruits who join the agency’s Uniformed Division.
Authorities say the move is part of efforts to strengthen security coverage at critical federal sites. Those interested in the position must meet several requirements, including holding U.S. citizenship, passing rigorous background investigations, and meeting the agency’s physical and medical standards.
Officers in the division are responsible for guarding important government properties in Washington, D.C., while also supporting protective missions involving senior national leaders and visiting foreign dignitaries.
Successful candidates will first undergo extensive professional training focused on law enforcement, security operations, and emergency response. The financial incentive will be paid gradually over a period of service as officers continue their work with the agency.
