Nigeria’s sprint sensation, Tobi Amusan, is set to take on Olympic champion Masai Russell in the 100m hurdles at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Oregon on July 4. The race is part of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League and is expected to draw significant attention from track and field fans worldwide.

Joining Amusan and Russell are other top hurdlers, including two-time world champion Danielle Williams and 2025 World Championships bronze medalist Grace Stark. The competition promises a thrilling battle among some of the season’s most elite athletes.

The race will be held at Hayward Field, a venue where Amusan previously broke the 100m hurdles world record, adding extra excitement for spectators eager to witness history potentially repeat itself.

Fans and analysts are eagerly awaiting the showdown, seeing it as an early indicator of form and a chance for athletes to build momentum toward major championship events later in the year.
