The Federal Government has announced that it is taking decisive steps to address the frequent electricity blackouts affecting households and businesses across the country. Authorities say improving the supply of gas to power plants is a central part of the plan, as consistent gas availability is critical to maintaining stable electricity generation.

The Minister of Power emphasized that the government is actively working to resolve bottlenecks in the energy sector, which have long contributed to irregular power supply. Steps are being taken to strengthen the national grid and enhance the performance of existing power infrastructure.

Officials also highlighted ongoing initiatives to settle outstanding debts in the energy sector, which have hindered operational efficiency and delayed maintenance and upgrades. The government believes that addressing these financial challenges is key to creating a more reliable electricity system.

While Nigerians continue to face occasional blackouts, the government is optimistic that the combined measures—improving gas supply, upgrading infrastructure, and resolving sector debts—will lead to more consistent power delivery in the near future.
