Nigerian high jumper Temitope Adeshina has been named the top women’s field athlete in the Mountain Region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, following an undefeated collegiate indoor season.
Adeshina, who holds Nigeria’s national record in the high jump, won her third consecutive conference title and secured another NCAA indoor championship, showcasing remarkable consistency and skill.
During the indoor season, she cleared heights of at least 1.93m, finishing with a personal and national best of 1.97m. She also attempted 2.00m, which would have tied the NCAA indoor record, but was unsuccessful in three attempts.
Looking ahead, Adeshina plans to carry her strong form into upcoming outdoor competitions, aiming to further her achievements and strengthen her presence in international athletics.
