Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, will embark on a U.S. tour where they are set to face top Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) teams. The first match will see them compete against the Los Angeles Sparks on April 25 at Viejas Arena in San Diego.
Following the game, the team will travel to Kansas City to challenge the Minnesota Lynx, giving the players exposure to elite-level basketball outside Africa.
The tour is designed to strengthen the squad ahead of upcoming international competitions, including the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup, while also allowing the players to adapt to different playing styles and intensities.
As reigning African champions, D’Tigress are using this tour to test new strategies, integrate emerging talents, and build cohesion for the challenges ahead.
