Several notable political figures, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate Peter Obi, and former governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, joined a mass rally organized by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to protest recent decisions by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The gathering, held in Abuja, drew thousands of party supporters who voiced their concerns over what they described as actions by INEC that could undermine electoral fairness ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speakers at the rally accused the electoral commission of inconsistencies in voter registration and candidate qualification processes, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability to strengthen democracy.
Leaders of the ADC reiterated their commitment to peaceful advocacy and urged citizens to remain engaged in protecting their voting rights. The rally also highlighted the party’s broader agenda of political reform and electoral integrity.
Participants carried banners and chanted slogans calling for a more open and equitable election process, signaling a unified stance among opposition figures against perceived administrative overreach.
