The Senator representing Adamawa South and Chairman of the Senate Committee on States and Local Government Affairs, Binos Dauda Yaroe, has donated essential medical equipment to primary health centres in Kojoli (Jada LGA) and Fufore (Fufore LGA), Adamawa State.
The initiative, carried out in collaboration with the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA), aims to enhance healthcare delivery in underserved communities. During the equipment handover ceremony in Kojoli, Senator Yaroe explained that the intervention was motivated by the urgent healthcare needs of residents who previously had to cross into neighbouring Cameroon to access medical services—an often risky journey.
He noted that although the affected communities had existing health facilities, they lacked the necessary equipment to function effectively. The support provided includes hospital beds, surgical tools, and other critical medical supplies to enable the clinics to serve their populations better.
Representing the Executive Secretary of BCDA, Dr. George Kelly, the agency’s Director of Special Duties, Health, Education and Social Services, Mrs. Roselyn Abuh, stated that the intervention aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which seeks to ensure equitable development across all parts of the country.
