Nigerian Defence Academy Releases Successful Candidates for AFSB 2025

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has officially published the list of successful and reserve candidates for the Armed Forces Selection Board (AFSB) 2025. The announcement was made on Tuesday in Kaduna by the Academy’s Public Relations Officer, Major Mohammed Maidawa.

In a statement, Maj Maidawa urged the public to access the official list through the NDA website at (https://nda.edu.ng/).

He expressed gratitude to the candidates for their patience throughout the selection process. “This list represents the culmination of a rigorous selection process, and the Academy congratulates all successful candidates on their achievement,” he stated.

The NDA further welcomed the anticipated new intake, reinforcing their commitment to providing a top-notch education in military leadership and service.

Security Forces Dismantle Terrorist Hideouts in Imo State
In related news, security forces in Imo State have successfully dislodged terrorist hideouts associated with the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its militant wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN). The operation took place in the Njaba Local Government Area, following confessions from two apprehended suspects, Uchenna Opara and Ozioma Ihedoro, who revealed the locations of various terrorists’ camps.

According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the operation was spearheaded by Assistant Commissioner of Police Odeyeyiwa Olademeji, who oversees the Department of Operations (DOPS). On August 18, at approximately 1:40 p.m., the Anti-Kidnapping Unit launched a targeted raid in Ubaa, Umuaka, Njaba LGA.

Upon arrival, armed militants engaged security personnel in a firefight but fled after sustaining multiple injuries. The operation resulted in the successful dismantling of the hideouts.

Recovered items included an AK-47 rifle, three AK-47 magazines, 40 rounds of AK-47 ammunition, 60 rounds of live General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) ammunition, two pump-action guns, 582 live cartridges, two Biafra flags, and one Point of Sale (POS) machine.

The ongoing efforts of security agencies aim to enhance the safety and security of the region.
