The Umuahia chapter of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (Tipper Chapel) on Tuesday staged a peaceful rally to protest what they described as an “unbearable” 100 percent increase in ticketing fees within one year.
Addressing journalists during the demonstration, the association’s representatives said the sharp rise in levies had placed a heavy financial burden on their members. They appealed to Governor Alex Otti to urgently review the ticketing system in order to ease their plight.
While voicing their concerns, the transport operators commended Governor Otti for his developmental strides across Abia State. They praised his leadership style and pledged continued support for his administration, expressing confidence in his ability to deliver even more if re-elected.
